Again the thieves are out trying to steal your hard earned money.
This scam is somewhat different to the others that are going around at the moment for a couple reasons.
1/ Most of the internet phishing scams usually ask you to click on a link, this link will then take you to a website on the [...]

Having noticed really bad cell phone reception in my area with Cell C and hearing from friends and family similar stories of calls constantly been cut off etc, I was incredible sceptical about the performance of the new wireless internet from Cell C, also known as Whoosh.
To give you a little background, I have been [...]

This is a warning e-mail doing the rounds at the moment.
As a rule of thumb, you should never set the “Home” feature of your GPS to your actual home. Make sure it is set either in a totally random place, or set it to the close public place to your house like a shopping centre [...]

Yet another one of the phishing scams doing the rounds at the moment.
This particular one has “ABSA Refund Procedures” in the subject line.
At first look at the e-mail, everything looks pretty legit, the e-mail address that it supposedly comes from is “ib@absa.co.za” although as mentioned in my previous Phishing reviews, spoofing the e-mail address is [...]

My wife and I just got back from a week’s holiday in Mauritius which was fantastic and we enjoyed every moment of it.
We stayed on the west coast of Mauritius in an area called Flic en Flac at a hotel called Sofitel.

After doing some research regarding what size the rims should be on the web, I’ve [...]

Here is just another example of a phishing attack.
I’ve received this e-mail 3 times in the last month, and as usual, this is NOT a legitimate e-mail from the bank it claims to be.

The above link has [...]

These scams are becoming more and more frequent, all of which with a slight different twist of the tale, but the motive and method don’t ever seem to change.
Please remember…. Rule 1 about e-mail : NEVER CLICK ON LINKS WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY!!! EVER!!!
Below is the current Phishing scam going around on e-mail, this [...]

Another scam e-mail doing the rounds at the moment.
This e-mail apparently comes from SARS telling you that you are due a tax refund and that you must click on their link in the e-mail. They then request all your banking details, and they clean out your account.
Firstly this e-mail is not from SARS.. it is [...]

I have now received this e-mail about 5 times, I have received it from all 3 banks and considering I only bank with one of them, immediately warning bells should go off.
Firstly, the e-mail does NOT come from your bank… this is an internet scam playing on your emotions and your fear about your banking [...]
