Ok, so I admit it. I am a typical woman… don’t know where north is at the best of times and I am always getting lost…. NO MORE…. I have invested in a GPS and I am surprised that I ever survived without one in the past. This is not a toy. This is a necessity.
A few tips for GPS users…. (These are a few things I learnt the hard way!!)
1.Be careful when choosing options! As the bird flies means it will take you right through the centre of town to get to the other side, instead of using ring roads which are highways and much quicker!
2.DON’T put your home address in to the system. Put the closest police station or hospital. If you are high jacked or someone steals your GPS and house keys, they will know exactly where to go!
3.Trust it! So often, I think, “that can’t be right”, (I did tell you I didn’t know where north is) I go my way, and hear the dreaded “please do a U turn at the next available opportunity” when I am truly lost!
4.Holiday route planning is a great feature. No more fighting, or “where to” next…. Spend some time route planning before you venture out and you will not only fit it all in, but you will get there on time.
There are so many sales points to having one of these “must have gadgets” but I won’t go into that. I must say, at first I thought this was just a toy. Now I have to admit this is one of life’s necessities.
I have a Garmin, there are other brands you can look at, but I would recommend this brand as it is well supported throughout the world and the maps are updated on a regular basis. If you do not have one, I suggest you get one now!
